A Counselling Letter is a document that gives information on the counselling to which an employee is entitled due to misconduct or poor work performance. The goal of the paper is to formally notify the employee of their infringement, to explain to them that their behaviour is unacceptable, and to advise them of the potential consequences. When an employer or a non-commissioned officer wishes to modify the behaviour of one of their employees, a Letter of Counselling may be issued. It is required when their behaviour is incompatible with company policy or army standards.
